In ICSE there will be two papers: Paper 1: English Language; Paper 2: Literature in English. DRAMA: The Merchant of Venice (Shakespeare’s unabridged play by A.W. Verity) and TREASURE TROVE - A collection of ICSE Poems & Short Stories (Evergreen Publications (India) Ltd. New Delhi) make up for the Literature syllabus for students of ICSE schools of classes IX & X. I teach this by giving the meanings, line wise explanation & paraphrase of all the dialogues since the text is in Shakespearean English. Character analysis, themes are discussed.Reference to context assignments and tests are conducted to ensure that the students have understood the subject. The same methodolgy is followed while teaching prose and poetry. Regular tests are conducted and feedbacks given. Answers to the test are dicatated once tests are checked. In case the student has a query, he/she can approach me 24x7. I beleive in discipline, hence students have to be updated with their assignments and revision.
