Bharatanatyam is a classical dance form which was born in Tamil Nadu, India. It is a beautiful form that expresses emotions, feeling and showcase story of gods and their birth in a beautiful classical way. It is one of the oldest and most widely practiced classical dance styles in India, with a rich history and cultural significance. Bharatanatyam has ancient roots, with its foundations in the Natya Shastra, an ancient Indian treatise on performing arts, written by the sage Bharata Muni. Bharatanatyam incorporates several elements, including Nritta (pure dance), Nritya (expressive dance), and Natya (dramatic aspect), creating a holistic and versatile dance form.
In this course you'll learn the basics of Bharatnatyam, mudras, postures, and a small piece of dance choreography.
This class will be super fun, energetic, and knowledgable.
The classes will be for students of age between 5 to 15 years.
