Long sound
Vowels a, e, i, o and u give sound to the consonants when we make words.
Vowels have both long and short sounds.
We can define long sound as ' the name of the letter is the sound of the letter.'
Examples of long sound words are rain, pain, chain, tree, bee, pie, die, magpie, road, goat, argue, barbecue etc.
The vowel a can have a long sound by using ai, ay magic e etc.
For instance: 'ai'
Example sn+ ai+l = snail
r + ai+ n = rain
